Preflight Dispatch #3: May, 2026

The last few weeks have just flown by. It’s been about 12 weeks since Preflight went live. Crazy! Since the last update there’s been a few disruptions so updates are a little lighter for this round.. but we’re still ticking along making improvements every week!

Refreshed and additional delivery checks

I’ve spent some time trying to give the Delivery checks for a full audit a little bit of love. Spam results have had an overhaul, and we now report more detailed explanations of what SpamAssassin is identifying in your email.

DMARC checking was something absent on launch. Now, we have DMARC policy and alignment checks in addition to the existing SPF and DKIM checks.

Image-size checks

This one might change as I review feedback, but it’s a new check that gives you an at-a-glance spot check of whether your image assets might be too big and could be resized / compressed to improve rendering time.

Screenshot API for all accounts

All accounts (including trial accounts) can generate API keys immediately and use the Chrome Extension, or if you have a bespoke workflow, use the API to fit your own needs.

Website updates

This feels like something that will be a continous effort, but I’ve spent a bit of time again to try and improve the messaging and first impressions when arrving to the website.

Version / Client Updates

• iPadOS has been upgraded from 26.3.1 (a) to 26.4.2.
• Effort to making Windows (classic) screenshots more stable. Outlook has a habit of crashing and leaving stale processes (see the NASA outlook issue the other week). Some more work to continue on this front, but clients should be better performing already.

The plan for the next update is to be more focused on additional email clients, so we’ll see what’s fresh to share as we roll towards summer!
